A 15-year-old boy, Aditya Sharma, from Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, died after doctors removed 56 metal objects from his stomach in a major surgery at a Delhi hospital.
These foreign objects, including watch batteries, blades, nails, and other metal fragments, were discovered during medical check-ups across multiple hospitals, leaving his family and doctors stunned.
The ordeal began when Aditya experienced severe stomach pain and breathing difficulties, prompting visits to hospitals in Hathras, Jaipur, Aligarh, and Noida. Initially, an ultrasound revealed 19 items in his stomach, but further scans uncovered a total of 56 metal fragments.
After the surgery, Aditya’s condition deteriorated as his heart rate spiked and blood pressure dropped critically, ultimately resulting in his death. His father, Sanchit Sharma, expressed grief and confusion over the mysterious case, noting that there were no signs of injury in his mouth or throat to indicate accidental or deliberate ingestion.The tragic incident has left Aditya’s family, including his shaken younger sister, searching for answers. No comments were available from Safdarjung Hospital regarding the case.
