The Nigeria Police Force has warned miscreants planning to disrupt the inauguration ceremony of Kogi State Governor-elect Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo to stay away from the state.
Kogi State Police Command Public Relations Officer SP William Ovye Aya said in a statement that operatives of the command are ever-determined to deal decisively with any miscreants who want to disrupt the peace of the state.
According to the statement: “This is consequent upon the intelligence that reveals that some hoodlums plan to attack guests and visitors who will be attending the inauguration ceremony in the state. It was further revealed that the planned attack was aimed at disrupting the peace and thereby creating disharmony among the citizens of the state.
“It is on this note that the Commissioner of Police, Bertrand Onuoha, sternly warns all troublemakers and disgruntled elements who may want to disrupt the existing peace the state is enjoying to stay away from the state, as the police and other security agencies are ready to deal with any miscreants.
“The CP further advised those who have issues to ventilate their grievances through legal processes, as any act that will lead to a breakdown of law and order in the state will not be tolerated.”
DAILY POST reports that Alhaji Ododo will be sworn in on Saturday, January 27, 2024, as the fifth democratically elected governor in Kogi State.
He will take over from Alhaji Yahaya Bello, who will be finishing his tenure after serving for eight years.
