The Taraba State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, said additional security will be deployed to Wukari local government council of the state.
The aim according to the state Commandant, Adamu Salihu, is to stem the tide of insecurity presently bedevilling the council and its environs.
He stated this on Saturday when he visited the Chairman of the Taraba State Council of Traditional Rulers, who doubles as the Aku-Uka of Wukari, Manu Adda Ali, in his palace.
The commandant, who admitted he is fully aware of the security challenges bedevilling the council and the state at large, said the command would leave no stone unturned to flush out miscreants.
He said the NSCDC was working assiduously, alongside other security agencies to ensure security in the state.
Overwhelmed by the visit, the monarch commended the NSCDC and other security agencies for their efforts in ensuring normalcy in the area.
Lamenting that the council was still faced with a myriad of security challenges, he appealed to the command to draft more men to the affected areas.
He said, “I want to plead with you, the Commandant, to increase the number of men here and also equip them adequately so that they can help us fight the menace of insecurity more effectively”.
