Abia CP charges PCRC members to provide information against criminals

The Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, Mustapha Bala has challenged members of Police Community Relations Committee, PCRC, in the state to remain alive to their responsibilities by providing useful information to the police.

This, he said, would effectively help the Policemen in discharging their duties in crime fighting and maintenance of peace in various communities of Abia.

The CP gave the charge in Umuahia during a meeting of members of the PCRC held at Police Officers’ Mess in Umuahia.

He reminded the PCRC members that their roles included providing the Police needful information that would help in the security of lives and property in rural and urban areas of the State.

CP Bala, who also frowned at irregular attendance of PCRC meetings by some members of the committee, made it clear that commitment to responsibilities would now be used as yardstick for members aspiring for leadership positions in PCRC.

Earlier in his address, the Chairman of PCRC in Abia State, Chief Emma Nwosu alerted the Commissioner of Police about the rising wave of crime in Aba, lamenting that there is upsurge in stealing of cars by hoodlums among other criminal activities.

The PCRC Chairman commended CP Bala for his efforts so far in the State especially in ensuring peaceful conducts of 2023 elections in Abia which attracted the commendations of the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba to him and his men.
