Complement govt’s efforts in mitigating flood – Ohanaeze youths urge Nigerians

The youth wing of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has urged good-spirited Nigerians to complement the Government’s efforts to mitigate the impact of floods on parts of the country.

This is contained in a release signed by the South-South Zonal Coordinator of Ohanaeze youths, Mr. Chinedu Arthur-Ugwa, made available to newsmen in Owerri on Friday.

Arthur-Ugwa called for all hands to be on deck, adding that the responsibility of providing relief supplies should not be left to the Government alone.

He sympathized with victims of floods and commended the governments of Anambra, Rivers, Bayelsa and Kogi for “the steps taken toward humanitarian relief”.

“We condole with families who lost dear ones as well as those who lost property or were displaced and pray for divine intervention.

“We especially commend the Bayelsa government for proposing to build a dam to checkmate possible recurrence and we assure the Government that our support for their efforts will soon be communicated to them.

” We are committed to making a difference. All hands must be on deck, for the government alone cannot do everything.

” If you feel blessed please bless others, accommodate as many as you can, this period. No condition is permanent. Together we achieve great things. Keep doing good, it pays “, he said.
