Delta State Police Command has apprehended a woman who assaulted her 12-year-old niece, Igho, for allegedly stealing Garri and fish.
The incident reportedly happened on Saturday, March 19th, at their shared family compound in Isiokolo, Ethiopia East council area of the state.
Igho’s screams reportedly attracted her blind mother, who begged her sister to stop the beatings.
Despite pleas from Igho’s mother, Mercy went ahead and peppered and inserted a stick into the girl’s honeypot, damaging her hymen.
It is reported that the attacker, one Mercy Oba, noticed that her Garri and fish had been tampered with and angrily entered the young girl’s room, took the food items, and pounced on her.
Speaking to reporters, a human rights activist, Kelvin Ejumudo, revealed that he found out about the atrocity and quickly led his colleagues to the scene and rescued the victim.
According to the doctor reported that the girl’s hymen has been broken because of the force the auntie used in driving the stick into her private part.
He added that the matter will be charged to a court on Monday.
Meanwhile, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident on Sunday, saying the aunt is cooling off her feet in police custody, because she feels that her juju will protect her.
