Anambra election: We didn’t ask personnel to pay N10,000 as transport fare – Kogi CP

The Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Idrisu Dauda Dabban, has debunked an online media report that the command asked its personnel to pay the sum of N10,000 as transport fare to convey officers for the Anambra election this Saturday.

According to a statement sent to DAILY POST on Wednesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), in Kogi State, DSP William Ovye Aya, the report is not only the figment of the author’s imagination but totally false, malicious and highly mischievous.

“The Command did not request for any amount of money as transport fare from Officers deployed for the assignment.

“The Commissioner of Police, while addressing the Officers deployed for the election stated that, the police authority is responsible for the transportation of it’s personnel to and fro to Anambra State. The Command is surprised at the false and unfounded report on social media.

“Consequently, the Commissioner of Police urged the public to discountenance such mischievous information, while ordering the Deputy Commissioner of Police Investigation to commence investigation into the alleged extortions,” he said.

DAILY POST reports that the Anambra election is slated for November 6th 2021.
