The police in Ekiti State have arrested one Adelusi Adeweye for colluding with his three friends to stage his own kidnapping.
According to the command’s spokesperson, Sunday Abutu, the suspects were arrested following a complaint by one Mrs Aladejana Aderonke, that Adeweye, her cousin, was kidnapped earlier in the day.
It was gathered that the kidnappers contacted Adeweye’s family through his cell phone and demanded the sum of N250,000 as ransom.
The suspects identified as Yusuf Hassan, Yakubu Usani, Agboola Damilola, and the fake victim Adelusi Adeweye, allegedly confessed to have conspired and faked the kidnapping of Adeweye in order to get some money from the family members for the New Year.
