2020 was a bad year for most people, and 2021 seems to have been off to a terrible start as well. Mr Thompson Dondo, the Impala Car Rental boss died this morning at a local hospital after succumbing to kidney failure.
Mr Dondo had been a diabetes patient for some time and sources close to the development claim that this adversely affected his health
The sad development was confirmed by his company in a statement that has been shared on social media.
The self-exiled former Zimbabwean Information minister, Jonathan Moyo also confirmed the sad news on Saturday morning.
“THOMPSON DONDO, Chief Executive Officer of @impalacarrental has passed on this morning. The Impala Car Rental was implicated in the abduction and torture of @TeeMuchehiwa by Mnangagwa’s Ferret Force led by the #CIO, who used a Ford Ranger from Impala Car Rental for the abduction!” He said in a tweet.

Mr Thompson Dondo is survived by his wife, Matirasa Francisca Dondo and his three children – one of his sons is the famous, King 98.
Over the last few months, Mr Thompson and his company, Impala Car Rental have been victims of continued negative media campaigns indirectly targeted at the government and the CIOs.
This comes after the Impala Boss was fingered in an alleged abduction case involving Tawanda Muchehiwa.
One of Impala’s rental cars was used in the alleged abduction with the whole incident being captured on CCTV.
Impala distanced itself from the incident and Mr Dondo had tried by all means to clear the company name before his untimely death.
The abduction case is currently before the courts with a verdict yet to be passed.
Last month, a rumour claimed the case had collapsed in court after Tawanda Muchehiwa reportedly fled to South Africa forcing his lawyers to concede and the provisional Anton Pillar Order dismissed.
