The Adamawa State House of Assembly on Thursday passed the N140 billion 2021 budget proposed by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri.
The House passed the budget at its Christmas eve sitting, directing its clerk to forward a clean copy of the bill as passed for the Governor’s assent.
Governor Fintiri had last month, November 23, presented a total of N140,034,404,449 as the 2021 fiscal proposal and extracted a promise of speedy legislation on it by the House of Assembly.
The passage of the budget Thursday followed the presentation of the report of the House Standing Committee on Finance, Appropriation and Budget on the floor of the House by Chairman of the committee, Hon Kate Raymond.
Hon Kate, who represents Demsa state constituency, moved a motion for the adoption and consideration of the report and was seconded by the member representing Ganye state constituency, Hon Alhassan Hammanjoda.
Speaker of the House, Rt Hon Aminu Iya Abbas, directed the preparation of a clean copy of the bill for the governor’s assent.
