Snubbed Stars Criticise The Grammys


 The Recording Academy is under fire for its continuous disregard of artists. Snubbed stars  that criticised the Grammys include The Weeknd, Teyana Taylor, Drake, and Nicki Minaj had a lot to say about the awards. Drake took to Instagram to announce his support for the weekend and he was supported also by Nicki Minaj and Bella Hadid. 

The Weeknd was snubbed at this year’s 2021 Grammys. The Weeknd called out the Grammys hours after the nominations announcement. “The Grammys remain corrupt,” the “Blinding Lights” tweeted on Tuesday. “You owe me, my fans and the industry transparency…”

Despite his highly raved album, ‘After Hours, he was snubbed by the awards show. Two singles off the album landed in the top 10 on the Billboard charts and six songs make it on the Billboard Global 200 list. He then tweeted:

Collaboratively planning a performance for weeks to not being invited? In my opinion zero nominations = you’re not invited!

Nicki Minaj tweeted, “Never forget the Grammys didn’t give me my best new artist award when I had 7 songs simultaneously charting on billboard & bigger first week than any female rapper in the last decade- went on to inspire a generation. They gave it to the white man Bon Iver. #PinkFriday”

Drake responded to the Grammys controversy and shouts out those who he felt got snubbed for “Album of the Year.”
