Donald Trump Pays Tribute To Maradona, Or Madonna?

Trump pays tribute to Maradona. OMG! He is definitely confused!

Donald Trump took to Twitter to pay tribute to Argentine football legend Diego who passed away on Wednesday 25th of November. The former Argentina attacking midfielder and manager had a cardiac arrest at home. He was only 60. He had successful surgery on a brain blood clot earlier in November and was to be treated for alcohol dependency.

What surprised, or maybe not shocked people is the tribute that Trump made. It seems that he confused Maradona for America pop queen, Madonna. In a now deleted tweet, the outgoing president said,”Very sad to hear about the death of Maradona. A great person. Her music was wonderful. I remember listening to her albums in the early 1980’s. Rest In Peace!”

Twitter users who picked up on the tribute commented in a thread of tweets. One user @felicialiewsze1 commented, “Seriously???”

Another user had this to say, “@realDonaldTrump When did Madonna take up football…. and when did Maradona take up singing??? What on earth did your previous coronavirus infection do to your brain…. assuming that you have a brain in the first place……”

They added, “Donald Trump is still in his delusional state of mind after losing the US president election. He’s so confused not only on the election result but also the death of Diego Maradona that he thought was Madonna the American singer and songwriter.”

Another user tweeted, “On behalf of @realDonaldTrump I sincerely want to apologize for his tweet in which he was mixing up Maradona and Madonna. Since I don’t know about Madonna’s skills playing soccer, I am quite sure that her singing skills are far superior to Maradonas. (Irony off)”

Now that’s what we call confusion! Once again, rest in peace to the legendary Diego Maradona.
