Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, will miss the Super Eagles’ friendly matches against Algeria and Tunisia on October 9 and 13 respectively, in Austria.
This follows COVID-19 restrictions put in place by his Serie A club.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) confirmed his unavailability on Sunday via its Twitter handle.
Paul Onuachu has been invited as his replacement.
“@victorosimhen9 has been excused from @NGSuperEagles’ games against Algeria and Tunisia.
“His replacement is Paul Onuachu. #Team9jaStrong #SoarSuperEagles,” the NFF tweeted.
Osimhen becomes the second major withdrawal, after Wilfred Ndidi was ruled out with injury.
