Three states share 71 percent of COVID-19 cases in Nigeria as toll hits 1932

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has disclosed that 71 percent of all COVID-19 cases in the country were identified in three states.

A chat on NCDC’s verified Twitter handle showed that Lagos, Kano and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, shared the 71 percent of the cases.

NCDC also disclosed that 34 states of the federation including FCT have recorded at least one confirmed case of COVID-19.

The tweet reads: “As at April 30, 2020, 34 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Nigeria have recorded at least one confirmed case of #COVID19.

“71% of all cases are from three states.#TakeResponsibility.”
 


As at Thursday night, confirmed COVID-19 cases in Nigeria stood at 1932.

This followed NCDC’s confirmation of 204 new COVID-19 cases in some states.
