Coronavirus hits 50 countries in Africa as death figures rise to 284

The Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) says there are now 7,028 confirmed cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in 50 countries across Africa.
The health agency disclosed this in a tweet on its official Twitter account on Friday morning.
According to the tweet, COVID-19 had killed 284 people in Africa, while a total of 561 patients recovered from the deadly disease across the continent.
“COVID19 – SURVEILLANCE UPDATE IN AFRICA: 3 APRIL 2020 – 9:00 am EAT,” Africa CDC tweeted.
 

“50 @_AfricanUnion Member States reporting 7,028 COVID-19 cases, 284 deaths, and 561 recoveries by region.”
