According to Punch Metro, three women have been confirmed dead after they were shot by gunmen in Vatt community, Barkin Ladi Council Area of Plateau State.
A youth leader in the community, Dalyop Solomon, told Punch Metro in Jos on Tuesday that the women were killed while harvesting tomatoes on their farms on Monday.
He named the deceased as Tabitha Joro Dung, Ngo Yop Gwom Pam and Zong, adding that their corpses had been deposited at the mortuary.
Solomon said, “Our people are mourning because suspected Fulani militias invaded a tomatoes farm where local women were harvesting tomatoes in Vatt community.
“As I talk with you, their corpses have been deposited in a mortuary. It’s really very sad.”
He added that security officials, who visited the town, had promised to fish out those behind the incident.
