Stacey Dooley called Strictly dancers 'handsome' and Kevin Clifton 'a sweetheart'.

Stacey Dooley seemingly had her eye on Kevin Clifton from the very beginning of her Strictly Come Dancing journey, it has emerged.

Just days after the documentary maker's relationship with the professional dancer was revealed, old footage of Stacey, 32, at the launch of the BBC show in August 2018 sees her label Kevin, 36, 'a sweetheart'.  

Photos of the couple from January also show them both arriving at the same hotel, after Kevin travelled to Birmingham to watch Stacey perform in the Strictly tour, during which their relationship was reportedly 'an open secret.'  

Stacey’s ex-boyfriend, personal trainer Sam Tucknott, 30, revealed the TV personality called time on their five-year relationship and entered into a romance with thrice-married Kevin in an explosive interview with the Mail On Sunday this weekend. 

It's been claimed Stacey and Kevin, who won the 2018 series, have been enjoying a secret romance for weeks, but back in August, Stacey was happily loved up with her boyfriend of five years, personal trainer Sam. 

Asked by Good Morning Britain if she had a crush on anyone during rehearsals, Stacey was adamant she only had eyes for Sam: 'Do I fancy anyone?' she laughed. 

'I mean they're all so handsome - almost too handsome. But my Sam's beautiful so I think I'm alright.' Meanwhile, speaking to MailOnline, Stacey was gushing in her praise of Kevin.
