Until his tragic death, he was a member of the National Stakeholders Committee on Prisons Reform and Decongestion under the chairmanship of the Federal Capital Territory Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Ishaq Bello. A colleague, Oladokun took to Facebook to mourn the deceased.
He wrote:
"The song in my dream, like a funeral dirge, was terminated by an early morning phone call with the horrible news that the eagle in person of our Dr. Adewale Oloyede (DCG/Retd) is no more; no thanks to the bullets of the highway robbers. The tear that flows down the faces of parting lovers is like a compact that no joy shall dwell there until they meet again. Those who extinguished your life failed to realize they cannot kill the soul as your spirit matches on still. Adieu sir!!!
