The 18-year-old will spend the next 18 months on loan at the Croatian club before moving to the Etihad in the summer of 2020.
He said: “I’m happy the work of the Hajduk Academy has been recognised by one of the biggest clubs in the world.
“Thanks to Manchester City for trusting me. There is still a lot of work ahead of me, I have not yet shown all I can and I hope to play for Hajduk to justify the great trust I received from English champions.”
Ante Palaversa is one of Croatia’s most highly-rated young players and has been compared to Toni Kroos stylistically. A technically gifted central midfielder, he is said to have caught the eye of Pep Guardiola who will hope he develops enough to enter City’s first-team squad
