Ederson: City Needed To Beat Liverpool

Manchester City goalie, Ederson has stated that they needed the 2-1 win against Liverpool, to save their season.

City rallied to defeat their rivals in front of their home fans last week, as they were eager to close the gap on the runaway leaders.

Goals from Aguero and Sane handed them the win, blowing the title race wide open, with Tottenham also in the mix.

And Ederson has admitted they welcomed the Reds with only one thing in mind, winning, as drawing or losing were never options.

“For us, it was a matter of life or death,” Ederson told Sky Sports.
 

“We knew the circumstances around the game – drawing or losing was not an option. We only contemplated winning, and we did a great game.

“It was our best game in the Premier League so far, and hopefully we will continue at the same level as of now.”
