BREAKING: National Assembly Workers Suspend Warning Strike

The workers in the National Assembly Complex under the auspices of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN), have reportedly suspended their four-day warning strike action.
Nigerian Guardian quoted PASAN’s chairman, Comrade Musa Bature Muhammed as saying that the decision to call off the strike was based on assurances from the management of the National Assembly to meet their demands, which includes 28% increment in the Consolidated Legislative Salary Structure (CONLESS).
According to him, the National Assembly management has approved the implementation of the increase will commence from January 2019, promising to source for the arrears and pay in instalments.

He said both chambers of the National Assembly have made significant progress aimed at passing the document and the process of harmonization of the Conditions of Service in line with the demand for a review in the condition of service.

On the release of promotions letters, he said it was agreed that the outstanding letters will be released as soon as work resumes.
He also warned that the union would return to the trenches in January if the National Assembly leadership renege on its promises to live meet their demands.
