Gwyneth Paltrow and ex-husband Chris Martin look mesmerised

She recently revealed that she has kept her ex-husband Chris Martin's last name, despite announcing that their marriage had come to an end back in 2014.

And Gwyneth Paltrow, 45, showed just how friendly her relationship with her 41-year-old musician ex has remained as she was spotted spending time with him at the beach in Malibu, California, on Monday.

The former couple — who are the parents of daughter Apple, 14, and son Moses, 12 — appeared to be mesmerised as they sat on a beachside rock together and watched a man surf the ocean's waves with his pet dog.

The pair laughed and chatted as they sat and observed the adorable pooch expertly navigate the sea under his owner's watchful eye, with a source telling MailOnline that they took in all of the action for at least 20 minutes before pressing on with their day.

Gwyneth was typically stylish for the relaxed outing, stepping out in a crisp white shirt and sunglasses, while Coldplay star Chris donned a blue T-shirt, two-tone trucker cap and a pair of painted khaki trousers. 

Their outing comes days after Gwyneth revealed that she has kept Chris's surname — despite splitting up with him in 2014.
