36 Lagos Assembly Members Dump Ambode, Endorse Sanwo-Olu
There are reports that thirty six out of the 40 members of the Lagos State House of Assembly on Saturday have endorsed their aspirant in the Lagos All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial primaries, Jide Sanwo-Olu ahead of the state Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.
The endorsement of Sanwo-Olu literally means that the 36 lawmakers won’t be supporting Ambode ahead of the primary election on Sunday.
According to Premium Times, the Chairman of the House Committee on Information, Strategy and Security, Adefunmilayo Tejuoso, in a statement he issued said the decision was taken at a parliamentary meeting of the lawmakers which took place at Lateef Jakande auditorium of the House on Saturday, a day before the governorship primaries of the party.
The meeting was chaired by Mudashiru Obasa, the House Speaker.
Out of the 40 members of the House, 36 were present at the meeting and all of them endorsed the decision and duly signed the statement announcing the decision.
