She rose to fame as a finalist on the seventh series of The X Factor.
Yet Mary Byrne looked unrecognisable compared to the singer who auditioned on the ITV show in 2010 as she unveiled her shock transformation on Friday's Loose Women.
The singer, who was called 'Tesco' Mary on the show and appeared on the same series as One Direction, revealed that she has lost four and a half stone.
Yet this wasn't the only transformation as Mary has changed her long brunette locks to a chic blonde bob instead.
Talking about her weight loss, she said: 'There's four and a half stone off me so far. I've got a long way to go.
'For years I used to say: "I'm happy with what I am", nobody should be shamed into feeling any different. But the problem starts when you get older, your health starts to fail.
'I need a new knee, I have chronic arthritis, four and a half stone has made a huge difference to my body. So much has changed since I lost the weight.
'For years I'd been trying, while I was on X Factor I was diagnosed with an under active thyroid.
'I had to do something, so a company in Ireland contacted me. One month giving me diets and exercise and swimming, and since that - I stuck to the diet, I stuck to the exercise and I stuck to the walking.
'It was the best platform I had ever had, I was 51 at that time. Looking at me there, I don't look like me and I look unhealthy.'
