Arsenal are in “advanced talks” and on the verge of completing shock signing of Borussia Mönchengladbach goalkeeper, Yann Sommer.
New manager, Unai Emery has made five signings so far this summer, including a deal for German goalkeeper, Bernd Leno, but he wants competition for places in all areas.
David Ospina and Petr Cech are likely to leave the Emirate Stadium following the arrival of Leno.
Spanish sports newspaper, Marca reports that the Gunners are close to a deal for Sommer to keep up competition with Leno.
The 29-year-old Sommer, who starred for Switzerland at the World Cup in Russia, is said to be ready to leave Germany, where he has spent the last four years with Gladbach.
Arsenal are in Singapore on their far-east tour and German midfielder, Mesut Ozil is set to join up with his team-mates after cutting short his holiday in a bid to get up to speed for the upcoming season.
