Speaking to The Daily Express as the face of Specsavers' Confidence Scale Campaign on Tuesday, the former Eternal singer, 43, opened up about putting her successful career on hold to raise sons Charley, 13 and Beau, nine.
The Naked hitmaker said due to her early days in a girlband, her image and style had always been important to her.
She said: 'Like most people as you start to get older, other things take over.
'You have a family to look after, you're running a household, your career path changes.
'When that happens, it's easy to start losing that strong sense of identity that was once your biggest priority.'
Louise returned to the spotlight in 2016's Strictly Come Dancing and a touring version of musical Cabaret, and has thrown herself into her work since the marriage split
This comes as former footballer Jamie, 45, and Louise reached an agreement over 'financial arrangements' following divorce proceedings, a family court judge has been told.
Judge Sarah Gibbons approved a settlement at a hearing in the Central Family Court in London earlier this month. Lawyers announced the settlement to the judge.
Neither Jamie a former Liverpool and Tottenham midfielder, nor Louise, 43, a founding member of the band Eternal who reached the final of the BBC’s 2016 Strictly Come Dancing show, were at the hearing.
