Ikpeazu can’t win in 2019, APC leaders on gov’s payroll – Apugo

Elder statesman and member of the Board of Trustees of All Progressives Congress, APC, Prince Benjamin Apugo, has told the Abia state Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu to forget his second term ambition.

Apugo said that the governor has nothing to show as achievements since assumption of office in 2015.

He stated that that all the ongoing and completed road projects in Abia, were federal governorment’s, being executed through the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC.

Prince Apugo, made this known in a chat with newsmen at his Nkata ibeku residence in Umuahia, the Abia state capital on Sunday.

He advised Governor Ikpeazu not to waste his time seeking reelection to avoid being humiliated at the poll, stressing that Abia people were now poised to chase him out from the government house in 2019.

According to the frontline politician, “Why would they vote for Ikpeazu again? What single thing has he done in Abia? Infact, I am surprised that people are saying he is building Aba. He is not building anything in Aba”.

“All the things you see, going on now in Aba, are all federal government projects being executed by NDDC. Let Ikpeazu come out and tell Abians one project he is building or has built. And if Ikpeazu think that Abia people will vote for him, he is wasting his time”.

Apugo also alleged that some APC leaders in the state, were in the payroll of Governor Ikpeazu, and vowed to join hands with other like-minds to resist any attempt to destabilize the party.

He said,” It is true that some APC leaders are in the payroll of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu. That is the problem we are having now. But those APC leaders who goes to the governor to take money are of no consequences”.

“They are just defrauding Ikpeazu. Because none of them can win their booths. They are defrauding him”.
