The Beckhams' £10million sprawling country Cotswolds pad remains an 'arid dust-bowl'

They moved into their £10million sprawling country mansion in the Cotswolds six months ago - but the Beckhams' barn conversion remains an 'arid dust-bowl.'

While the surrounding fields of the property in Chipping Norton look lush and verdant, aerial photos show that no grass at all appears to have grown on the garden of the triple barn.

The Beckhams employed top-end gardeners to design an English country garden surrounding the house - at vast expense - with a mixture of bought-in mature trees, plants and shrubs fitting in character with the local environment.

The list of shipped in mature trees cost thousands of pounds and includes 23 evergreen oaks, seven white oaks, eight cherry trees, a plum tree, nine apple trees, three holly trees, nine witch hazels and a maple.

However, the garden surrounding it is still just a muddy mess - with no grass seed planted on it and no turf laid on it.

Within the eastern courtyard, to the right in these pictures, a trendy 'natural swimming pond' has been built - around which deckchairs now sit.

The natural pool is chemical free, using a natural bio-filtration system consisting of mains water phosphorous pre-treatment.

In the East Courtyard, a timber pergola has been built - covering a table and chairs. A vast fire pit is also visible on the patio. Meanwhile, the country is baking in a heatwave.

Temperatures have reached near-record levels for June across most of the UK in a heatwave that looks set to continue into July.
