Beyoncé 'buys her own CHURCH in New Orleans for $850,000'.

She's one of the most famous people on the planet.

But it seems a career in show business just isn't enough for Queen Bey, 36, who has reportedly bought a church in New Orleans.

According to TMZ, the over-a-century-old church was listed at $850,000 (£631,000) and is 7,500 square foot, and has been out of use as a religious place for a while.

Beyoncé's representatives have been contacted for comment by MailOnline.

It's not the first time that Beyoncé has hit headlines over a church - earlier this month Grace Cathedral in San Francisco held it's first 'Beyoncé Mass', with the service including her solo songs and Destiny's Child anthems.

Reverend Yolanda Norton had the idea to base the mass around the pop icon, explaining: 'When we talk about womanist biblical interpretation, Beyoncé felt like a natural fit,' reports the San Francisco Chronicle.

'If we look at the trajectory of her person and her relationships, we can see so many issues black women face and how it can affect how we interpret the text.'

A few weeks ago, Beyoncé delighted Destiny's Child fans with two performances at Coachella.

The group last performed together at the 2013 Super Bowl halftime show, after going on hiatus to pursue solo careers in 2003 and finally disbanding three years later.

It won't be long until the chart-topper is back on stage, as she confirmed rumours in early March that she and her husband Jay-Z, 48, were hitting the road again for On The Run II.
