Antonio Conte Speaks About His Future At Chelsea After Humiliating Defeat Vs Watford

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has insisted that his position at the club remains the “same” following a humiliating defeat to Watford at Vicarage Road on Monday night.

Chelsea were beaten 4-1 by Watford and played 60 minutes with 10 men following Tiemoue Bakayoko’s sending-off.

Eden Hazard cancelled out Troy Deeney’s first-half penalty, but in the final seven minutes of the game, Daryl Janmaat, Gerard Deulofeu and Alberto Pereyra scored to give all three points to Watford.

Given that Chelsea have suffered back-to-back defeats, questions have been raised over Conte’s future, but while discussing the result on Sky Sports, the coach seemed unfazed.

“I tried to warn everyone about the difficulty of our path in the league and Champions League.
We performed very bad but maybe I made the mistakes with the starting XI today,” said the Italian coach. “My choice was very poor I think. It was very difficult to change something tonight.

“My position [as manager]? It is the same. I stay here, try to work and put all myself in the work. The pressure? Which pressure? What is the pressure? I work – if this is enough it is, OK. Otherwise the club has to take another decision.”
