“Captain Mahama’s time was due and Jesus needed him by his side in heaven,” adding that “the villagers who lynched him will know no peace till they die.”

Obinim claims he chats privately with Jesus on a hotline and in some cases, whatsapp.

Recall that a military officer with the 5th Infantry Battalion (5BN) at Burma Camp in Accra but on detachment duties at Denkyira Boase in the Upper Denkyira West District of the Central region was last week, lynched by residents on suspicion of being an armed robber.

Late Captain Mahama, who was a leader of the platoon detailed to a mining company at Denkyira-Obuasi, was about to be promoted to a ‘Major’ after he successfully sat his examinations a few weeks ago, according to Defence Minister, Dominic Nitiwul.

Mahama was on Monday morning seen jogging along the main road and as he stopped by to ask some women for directions, but they saw a pistol on him and mistook him for a robber. He was consequently lynched by youths and women of the area. Some persons have already been arrested, including the woman who set his body ablaze.
