Rivers United aiming to be first Nigerian club to win CAF Confederation Cup

Rivers United captain, Festus Austine, has said his side can go all the way, to become the first Nigerian club to win the CAF Confederation Cup this year.

The Port Harcourt club lost their Match Day 1 fixture to Club Africain of Tunisia.

However, on Wednesday, they will be looking to bounce back when they welcome Group A leaders, FUS Rabat.

Austine insists they have learnt from the 3-1 loss in Tunisia and are ready to take all three points against the Moroccan club at home.

“Our aim is to become the first Nigerian winners of the Confederation Cup,” he told ‎CAFonline.com.

“We are good enough to achieve that goal.

“Those mistakes are history. All we are thinking about is how to defeat FUS and get back into contention for first place.”
