Moji Olaiya: Mercy Aigbe speaks on death of actress

Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe, has reacted to the death of her colleague, Moji Olaiya.

Moji Olaiya, 42, who delivered a baby in Canada in March, died in a hospital on Thursday.

Moji Olaiya, had in an Instagram post just days before her passing, wrote: “Allhamdulilahi to you Allah I give all the glory for all you have done. I will forever praise and worship you”.

“It’s not by power but the Grace of Allah. Thank you for the gift of life. Thanks also to all my friends and family my fans for your supports and prayers. Love you all.”

But in a chat with DAILY POST, Mercy Aigbe said the news was “shocking and unbelievable.”

“I found it to comprehend what I was seeing and hearing. Then I made some phone calls. I broke down in tears. I pray that God will be with her children, loved ones and entire family.

“It was a sad day for me and the entire industry. Honestly I could not sleep that Thursday night, I was scared. Still haven’t come to terms with what happened.”

Asked if the movie industry was under a spiritual attack, she replied: “No no, I don’t believe that. I just think we need to be more prayerful, take care of our health and be closer to God”

“Death is inevitable but the prayer is that we should all live long in good health. We will all die some day but I pray we all grow old and leave great legacies behind”.

Mercy Aigbe, however, declined comment on her marriage saga and the ongoing case in court.

“No comment, please; no comment,” she responded sealing her lips with her hand.
