This year has been quite interesting for Nollywood. However, amid everything that happened, people got their happily ever afters.
Here’s a list of the most notable Nollywood weddings of 2016.
1. Seun Akindele and Toun
On Bended Knees Actor, Seun Akindele got down on bended knees this year when he proposed to his lady love, Toun.
The wedding ceremony itself happened in June this year and was attended by many of his Nollywood colleagues.
And if the photos are anything to go by, the wedding was beautiful.
2. Blossom Chukwujekwu and Maureen
Blossom Chukwujekwu had his traditional wedding ceremony last year. However, the Falling actor walked down the aisle October this year.
The fairytale-like wedding had a lot of stars in attendance and was one of the most talked about weddings this year.
And after seeing the bride and groom at the wedding, we kinda know why they had no choice but to fall for each other.
Total couple goals!
3. Kalu Ikeagwu and Ijeoma
In June, one of the most sought after actors in Tinseltown hitched his lady love. Known for keeping his personal life extremely private, Kalu Ikeagwu made little or no noise about his wedding to Ijeoma.
But boy, was it beautiful?
4. Tomi Odunsi and Seun
Tomi Odunsi played an adorable teenager for years on TV soap, Tinsel. And we know we almost got used to that.
However when she got married to her spouse, Seun, their love looked so perfect, we had to constantly remind ourselves that she was a grown up woman.
A beautiful grown up bride. Because she was absolutely stunning on her wedding day.
5. Femi Adebayo and Omotayo
When Femi Adebayo got married to his wife, Omotayo, in October 2016, many were taken by surprise. His thousands of fans had clearly not seen it coming.
Attended by many stars in and out of Yoruba Nollywood, this wedding easily sits on our list of notable Nollywood weddings of 2016.
6. Funke Akindele and Rasheed ‘JJC’ Bello
Jenifa star Funke Akindele got married to her beau, Rasheed ‘JJC’ Bello in August.
Funke, who previously got married in a grand wedding celebration, took her fans by surprise when she wedded a second time.
And what was most notable about this wedding was how nobody knew about it publicly until weeks after it had happened.
One of the best kept secrets in modern Nollywood history, if you ask me.
