There was no killing, human massacre in Rivers under my administration – Amaechi replies Wike - DP

The Minister of Transportation and former Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi has said one of his greatest successes recorded as governor was that the State did not experience killings and human massacre as it is being experienced in the state.

He made the claim during the burial of Chief Godspower Umejuru Ake in Erema, Ogba/Egbema/ Ndoni Local Government Area of the state.

Rivers State since the start of the current administration of Governor Nyesom Wike as being experiencing insecurity, a situation that the current governor blamed on his predecessor, Amaechi.

But the Minister while at the burial called on people of the state vote out the cirrent government as a panacea to having a peaceful state.



According to Amaechi, “See Onelga, the beauty of the country. See how bad the road is. See Omoku, a desert. People are being killed and slaughtered every day, and there is a government in place.

“One thing I am proud of is that as a governor, both my enemies and opponents stayed alive. They have killed so many of Chief’s supporters and are still killing chief’s supporters. All you people owe chief is to chase out all these people in 2019.”

The Minister also said his victory as the then governor of the state was through a divine mandate and not by shedding of human blood.
