Ahead of its finale on Wednesday, it's been revealed The Great British Bake Off's judges don't actually bake the cakes that they show off as examples to contestants on the show.
Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood bring out the perfect cakes to show the competitors how it should be done.
But the desserts are actually made by expert bakers hired by GBBO's production company, while the judging duo sit in hair and make-up, getting prepped for their turn onscreen.
Once both the cakes and the judges are ready, all Mary and Paul have to do is present the cake and explain how it was made, despite not having had a hand in making the one they're showing off.
A show insider told The Sun on Sunday: "Mary and Paul have never made a single cake in the tent."
In fact, a team of home economics experts is hired by Love Productions to make the baked goods.
The insider added: "Paul in particular often talks about what 'we' have done, so it will come as a shock to fans."
Love Productions responded: "No, Paul and Mary don’t make the cakes. They never have.
"They are baked on the day and Paul and Mary could never do that."
A BBC One audience of 15 million is expected to watch Wednesday’s final.
