I'm being very careful

Strictly's Laura Whitmore returns to rehearsals after she pulled out of last week's show with ankle injury which left her 'unable to stand'

Laura Whitmore has returned to Strictly Come Dancing rehearsals after she missed last week's show due to an ankle injury.

The presenter, 31, who was reportedly unable to stand due to the intense pain, has been given the green light to carry on her rehearsals with professional partner Giovanni Pernice ahead of this week's live show.

'Back to training....I'm quite a bit behind and being very careful. But will try my best guys!' the blonde beauty promised as she took to Twitter on Wednesday.

Doctors told Laura to give the live show a miss last Saturday, fearing that she could do 'permanent damage' to her ankle, which left her wincing in pain .

And the Irish star was given permission by bosses to miss the show, but left her worrying about her dancing prospects.

Writing in her blog for Glamour Online, she said: 'You're allowed to miss one show if the doctor says you are not physically fit to dance - but only one.'

However, she fears regular training sessions could cause the joint to flare up again: 'The fear is, if it's not fully recovered it could get inflamed again. We have a lot to catch up on but I'm not ready to throw the towel in just yet.

'It's too much fun (yes despite the wonky ankles, tears and stress it's the best show to be part of!)'
