KYM Marsh has revealed she thinks carefully about her Coronation Street future on the show every time bosses offer her a new contract.
The actress, 40, admitted she debates whether to quit the show and even worries producers might not want her to stay on.
Speaking to the Daily Star Sunday, she said: “It’s always something that when you are at the end of a contract, you are thinking ‘Are they going to want me to stay? What do I do?’”
The former pop star added: “That’s always something that people think. Having been on the show for 10 years, you do sit there and go, ‘Would I want to? Would I like to?’”
Kym revealed back in April that she very nearly quit the ITV soap earlier this year and said: ““I thought about it for a long time. It was obviously a huge decision.”
Kym has starred as Michelle Connor since 2006 and is currently involved in a big storyline with on-screen husband Steve McDonald, played by Simon Gregson.
Fans of the soap discovered last week that Steve is at risk of developing myotonic dystrophy, a muscle wasting disease.
Kym said of the storyline: “Both Simon and I are privileged to be given such serious subject matter.
“Steve has found out that he may have inherited a genetic disease from his father. And we will see how that impacts on Michelle.
“And, of course, Michelle still doesn’t know that Leanne is carrying Steve’s baby. This storyline is going to be one that plays for a long time. We’re going to see a lot of twists and turns before it’s over.”
