A MAN has been charged with the murder of a volunteer at a Christian charity furniture shop.
Victor Alexandrov Maroukian was confirmed dead on Wednesday after emergency services were scrambled to reports of an injured man.
Boyan Antonov, 28, of Great Clowes Street, Salford, has been charged with murder following the incident.
He will appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court today.
The family of Mr Maroukian, who had worked at the Remark UK Furniture Store in Aigburth, Liverpool, as a volunteer for five years, described him “as a man with strong Christian beliefs” who “always wanted to help other people”.
Remar is a national Christian charity which offers assistance to disadvantaged people and individuals suffering from drug and alcohol addictions.
Police said the incident is not linked to a fatal shooting close to the shop on Monday night in which Blake Brown was murdered.
Reassuring the community on Wednesday, Merseyside Police ACC Nikki Holland said: “Looking after our communities is a top priority for Merseyside Police.
“I understand that people living and working in Aigburth will be concerned about two very serious incidents happening in such a close proximity in such a short space of time.
