Earlier today the 50-year-old told fans that he is stepping down from his presenting role after a disappointing first series following much criticism for his revamped show.
With lots of speculation on who will replace the lead presenter - with bookies suggesting the likes of Jenson Button and Steve Coogan in the running - a source close to the BBC Two motoring show has confirmed there will be no change to the line-up in the immediate future.
