Pan-Yoruba group chides Osinbajo for rejecting restructuring

Pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, has criticised the Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo for opposing the calls for the restructuring of Nigeria, Punch reports.
The position of Afenifere was contained in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Yinka Odumakin.
The group said the VP “may have been under pressure” from the Presidency to support “upholders of the status quo.”
Afenifere regretted that the latest comment against restructuring came from Osinbajo, who is from the South-West, which had always made a strong point for the restructuring of Nigeria.
Osinbajo had said on Sunday according to News24 faulted the various calls for the restructuring of Nigeria, saying it will not make any difference.

According to a statement on Sunday by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, the Vice-President made his position known while answering questions from the audience after delivering the second foundation lecture of the Elizade University, Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State, titled “The future is here earlier than we thought.”
