#Nigeria's unity is negotiable - Attah

Former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Obong Victor Attah, in response to statements attributed to President Muhammadu Buhari said that Nigeria's unity was indeed negotiable, Vanguard reports.
Attah described the current constitution as unworkable saying that the only way the country could move forward is if it adopted a fiscal federalism approach.
He added that there were great challenges facing the country as some sectors felt that there is an injustice against them in the current format of the constitution. He attributed this to the continuous confrontation and violence the people of Nigeria are facing.
Attah added that the government would have to look at renegotiating the terms that people were being governed as many were not happy with the current format and want to discuss the terms of staying together.
News24 Nigeria reported that President Buhari insisted that Nigeria's unity was not negotiable, adding that keeping Nigeria united as one entity is a task that must be done.
