Le Guen: Sodje blasts ‘unprofessional and embarrassing’ NFF leaders - DailyPost

Former Super Eagle and Portsmouth defender, Sam Sodje has described the action of the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, in the appointment of the coach for senior national team, as unprofessional and embarrassing.
Sodje wondered how announcement of the appointment French coach, Paul Le Guen as Super Eagles technical adviser was made without first reaching an agreement with him.

The defender noted that there was nothing embarrassing in a coach deciding not to take an appointment but added that announcing such appointment when it was not so was shameful.

His word, “It’s not a big deal if a country and a manager can’t agree on terms, then the manager turns down the job, but for NFF to announce him as a coach when an agreement has not been reached shows how unprofessional the NFF are.”

“It’s so embarrassing.”

According to him, a real professional is needed to head the NFF.

He added, “We need professionals at the NFF, if not it will be the same old stories. I know from day one, that the NFF leadership can’t do nothing.”

“An ex-international who has gone through football management can also be good but not among those who have sold their souls to the corrupt system.

“It’s sad NFF will look for ways to pay a foreign coach, but owe local coaches backlog of salaries and allowances. Nigerians can’t be fooled anymore.”
