Kate Middleton and Prince William Take #Prince George to Royal Air Show (and He Has a Tantrum) - E!

What was meant to be an exciting family day out quickly turned into an emotional roller coaster for Prince George!

Prince William and Kate Middleton took their adorable son to the Royal Air Show Friday, where George was able to see various types of airplanes and aircrafts up close. Unfortunately, before boarding a helicopter with his parents Prince George started to throw a tantrum. The cause of his tiny outburst is unknown, but it might have had to do with the loud noises from the chopper. As soon as his mom picked him up to console him, he calmed down and put on noise-canceling headphones to block out the loud sounds.

The 2-year-old royal looked cute in blue shorts, a white collared shirt and blue shoes. The Duchess of Cambridge looked as gorgeous as ever in a light blue dress that she paired with a navy blue mini blazer. Prince William looked dapper in a blue sports coat, beige khakis and a white button down. Parents of two, Kate and Wills left baby Princess Charlotte at home while they introduced George to pilots and other airmen. In one photo, George looks shy as he sucks on a finger while using the other hand to shake the hand of a pilot that was clad in uniform.

While checking out—and even getting into—some of the planes, Prince George remained all smiles, so it appears his tantrum was fairly short lived! The exciting field trip comes only a few weeks before he turns three, which means that he is really growing up before our very eyes!

Although it isn't known how the tiny tot will be celebrating his third birthday, he has already begun to receive presents.

In May Prince William visited the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, where the Duke of Cambridge received a pair of yellow RNLI wellington boots to give to George and a teddy bear in a pink top to give to Charlotte. The presents were reportedly a bit hit with William, who joked George would quickly grow into the wellies.

Consider them an early birthday gift, George!
