Militant group, the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA), have restated their position, claiming that they are not in any talks with the Federal Government.
According to a Naij report, President Muhammadu Buhari had on Thursday claimed that the Federal Government is in discussions with militant groups in oil producing states in order to map a way forward where pipeline vandalism is concerned.
Although Buhari did not make mention of which militant groups would be involved in the dialogue, NDA spokesperson Mudoch Agbinibo denied the group's involvement, stating that they are "unaware of any peace talk".
Agbinibo claimed that the Buhari-led Government had not exhibited any sincerity to indicate its ready to enter into dialogue with militants while stating that only an internationally brokered peace talk would be accepted by the NDA, The Guardian reports.
