"I don't care if I was rude," says the student who called out the PM for "waffling" during a Sky News debate on the EU.
The university student who accused David Cameron of "waffling" during a Sky News debate on the European Union has said the PM "had it coming".
Hitting back at claims she was "rude" to the Prime Minister, audience member Soraya Bouazzaoui told Sky News she had given him a "taste of his own medicine".
"He has spent his entire six years being dishonest, untruthful, brushing a lot of worrying things under the rug and I think for someone to actually finally call him out on it was necessary," she said.
"He's done nothing but lie to this country and not fulfil any of his promises and I'm expected to sit there and take it on the chin and listen to his waffling?
"I don't care if I was rude. I'm sorry, he had it coming."
Ms Bouazzaoui made the remark as the PM replied to her question about the prospect of Turkey joining the EU during Sky News' EU: In or Out? broadcast.
As the Prime Minister attempted to set out what he said was a "positive case" for staying in the EU, the Southampton student said: "That's not answering my question. Let me finish now, because I've seen you interrupt many people before. Let me finish.
"I'm an English Literature student, I know waffling when I see it, OK?
"I'm sorry, but you're not answering my question - how can you reassure people who want to vote out that we are safe from extremism when we are willing to work with a government like Turkey, who want to be part of the EU when they are under heavy accusation?"
Mr Cameron responded that there was "no prospect of Turkey joining the EU in decades".
