#PDP governors split over Sheriff, Makarfi

Governors of the Peoples Democratic Party are currently divided over who to support between Ali Modu Sheriff and Ahmed Makarfi, reports Today.

Both are laying claim to be the chairmanship of the party.

Of the party’s 12 state governors, only two – Darius Ishaku (Taraba) and Ibrahim Dankwambo (Gombe) have openly identified with Sheriff, who is from their North-East zone.

Ishaku had insisted that Sheriff had done his best for the party and deserved to be honoured according the News 24

Ishaku stated  that he and Dankwambo endorsed Sheriff as the only candidate for the party’s chairmanship from North-East.

Although 10 others are said to be tactically with Makarfi, two or three have allegedly pledged loyalty to Sheriff through subterranean channels.

Some of the governors allegedly against the candidature of Sheriff include Nyesom Wike (Rivers) and Ayodele Fayose (Ekiti)
