And now some viewers are claiming that daredevil Alex Magala was given a safety wire when performing his life-endangering routine during Saturday night's Britain's Got Talent final.
While both the judges and the public were once again left peering through their hands as they watched the terrifying spectacle, some eagle-eyed viewers claimed not all was as it seemed however, as they noticed what looked to be a safety line attached to the stuntman's foot.
In a jaw-dropping moment that saw Alex climb to the top of a pole before sliding down and stopping with his face just inches away from a chainsaw, a number of watchers appeared to spot the wire and instantly took to social media to express their outrage.
Convinced Alex had some help, one spectator tweeted: 'Alex Magala had a safety wire #bgt #fake'.
'Nice wire to support you #BGT,' another quipped.
#BGTFinal not so scary when a wire stops you,' one unimpressed viewer wrote, who, along with the other spectators, paused their TV screen and highlighted in on the supposed wire.
But a spokesperson for the BGT has vehemently denied that the entertainer had extra help, telling MailOnline: 'There is no truth in this claim. The wire was used to hold the pole in position and was not attached to Alex.'
While there were those who were quick to criticise the Moldovan showman on social media, there were also many who professed their love for his incredible act, which secured him ninth place in the competition.
'How on earth did Alex Magala finish 9th? By far the best act on the show. Yet that magician does a pub trick and wins,' one fan tweeted.
