A gang of thugs armed with baseball bats, machetes and a handgun launched a terrifying attack at a barber shop - because one of them was given a bad haircut .
The six yobs smashed windows causing £1,600 of damage before trashing an Alpha Romeo parked outside the premises.
Owners of Fresh Trimz in Walsall, West Mids, pulled the shutters down and locked the door as the raiders tried to break in at 3.15pm on November 6 last year.
One customer was left with a cut to his hand from flying glass while a seven-year-old boy was left in tears as he witnessed the violence erupt.
A court heard the three-minute attack was the culmination of a year-long spat over a man having a haircut he didn’t like.
A speck of blood found by a broken window matched the DNA of Alex Hill, 19, and he was arrested.
Hill, of Bushbury, Wolverhampton, admitted violent disorder and was jailed for 15 months at Wolverhampton Crown Court.
The court heard the attack followed a verbal warning and the occupants of a silver car making 'gun signs' with their hands as they drove past the shop.
Prosecutor Lynette McClement said: “Then those inside saw a group of men running towards them wearing balaclavas and carrying baseball bats and machetes.
“This was the culmination of a year long course of harassment which started after a man had a haircut he did not like.”
Oliver Woolhouse, defending, said: “This was largely violence against property and the threat of violence against individuals.
“Weapons were brandished. The defendant was not armed but admits punching the window.”
