Fuel increase an indirect tax on Nigerians - Fayose

Outspoken Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has revealed that the increase in the pump price of fuel is a mere disguise for indirect tax being imposed on Nigerians.
According to a Naij report, Fayose has lashed out at Government, claiming that the Buhari-led administration is lying to its citizens in a bid to gain revenue for its empty bank account.
"In other words, President Buhari increased petrol pump price because the country was broke and it needed to shore up its revenue base. The N58.50 added to the previous pump price of N86.50 was an Indirect Tax imposed on each litre of petrol purchased by Nigerians," Fayose claimed.
Fayose has since claimed that the suffering currently being experienced by citizens will continue into 2019 should the All Progressives Congress (APC) remain in power.
Fayose also took the opportunity to take a strike at organized labour, lambasting the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) for its failed strike, Nigeria Today reports.
